Overview
Salary Scraper (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is operated as an independent tool to help job seekers find salary information from Seek job listings. We are not affiliated with Seek Limited.
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used — for both the website (salaryscraper.com) and the iOS app.
What we collect
Lookup history (stored locally)
When you look up a salary, the result (job title, company, salary range, job ID) is saved to your device’s local storage so you can refer back to it. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
Seek job URLs
When you submit a Seek URL, our server queries Seek’s public salary filter API on your behalf to determine the salary bracket. We do not log or store the URLs you submit beyond the duration of a single request.
Aggregated recent lookups
A small anonymous feed of recent lookups (job title, salary range, timestamp — no personal data) is stored on our servers to power the “recent lookups” carousel visible to all users. No account, name, email, or device identifier is associated with these entries.
Advertising (Google AdMob / AdSense)
The app and website display ads served by Google. Google may collect certain non-personalized signals (such as general device type and approximate location) to serve contextual ads. The iOS app requests non-personalized ads only — no tracking identifier is used and App Tracking Transparency consent is not required. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
What we do not collect
- No account registration or login — we do not collect your name or email address
- No precise location data
- No contacts, camera, microphone, or other sensitive permissions
- No clipboard data is read without a direct user action (paste button)
- No data is sold to third parties
Third-party services
Salary Scraper uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob / AdSense — advertising
- Seek Limited — salary data is fetched from Seek’s public API
Data retention & deletion
Your local lookup history can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. Aggregated anonymous lookup entries stored on our servers are retained for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
Children’s privacy
Salary Scraper is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
